CRA is a safety research company based in Elma, NY, focused on providing high quality, cost-effective research & analysis. CRA continues to conduct safety research and analysis to government agencies within the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT).
CRA was awarded a five-year contract, in 2012, to provide crash investigation services to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). These Special Crash Investigations (SCI) provide NHTSA with in-depth, rapid response, real world clinical crash investigation and reconstruction data. These data are used by numerous offices within the Agency to address its mandate of reducing the harm caused by traffic crashes on our nation’s highways. In 2013, CRA was awarded a subcontract to provide similar crash investigation services for the Federal Highway Administration’s Strategic Highway Research Project 2 (SHRP2), a project administered by the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
CRA staff have extensive levels of experience conducting safety research. These include investigations of incidents involving automobiles, large trucks, busses, ATVs, and other vehicles.
CRA staff also have demonstrated expertise in designing, establishing, monitoring, and analyzing safety programs.
